What is Astrology and What is my approach to Astrology Consults?
Astrology is a natural science and language that studies light and time, as well as the relationship between the cycles of the planets and the affairs on Earth, including mankind.
There are many branches of Astrology but my niche and focus is Natal Astrology. Natal Astrology centers around analyzing the birth chart and focusing on the energetic makeup of the querent. I like to take a spiritual and psychological approach to Astrology and use it as a tool to help people better understand themselves and how they interact with the world around them. I truly believe that we cannot heal what we aren't aware exists, so by knowing thy Self (being more consciously aware of ourselves, what we are made up of and how we operate) we can be heal thy self, mind, body and spirit. I also prefer a traditional take to astrology. This means that I tend focus on the five main planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn) plus the two luminaries (the Sun and the Moon), and I also use traditional planetary rulership. Jupiter rules Pisces, Mars rules Scorpio and Saturn rules Aquarius.
Astrology operates under the Universal Law of Correspondence which states:
As Above, So Below……As Within, So Without………As the Universe, So the Soul
And so, by observing and understanding the cycles and patterns of the Universe, we also gain understanding and clarity of the nature of those cycles and patterns within ourselves. Which in turn helps us to understand and tune into our energetic signatures.
Your Birth Chart is a cosmic blueprint, a snapshot of the heavens at the time you were born. In ancient times, we called it the horoscope. Like a scientist would use a microscope to magnify objects otherwise too small to be seen; 'micro' meaning "small" and '-scope' meaning "to look at", an astrologer uses the horoscope to look at time and the quality of it. This blueprint, your Birth Chart, serves as a guide of the Soul, magnifying the details, the energetic signature of the life of the querent (you).
Naturally, the question then becomes, are our lives destined, or do we have free-will? I believe that although the planets influence events on Earth, those influences can, at times, be counteracted and changed and are not completely predetermined, this allows space for our free will. There are some life lessons we simply cannot avoid (partially predetermined) but if we come off of auto-pilot and actively engage in our own lives, manifesting and yielding our own desires, we exercise our free-will and co-create with the Universe. Remember, your Birth Chart may condition you but it does NOT determine you!
